ETFcast:S&P GSCI Commodity Indexed Trust GSG Podcast

ETF Review for the Week of January 15 - 29, 2009
iShares S&P GSCI(TM) Commodity Indexed Trust podcast: GSG
By: Rick W. Maduro, UCS Investment Co.

Description: Our weekly ETF review covers a unique ETF fund, its holdings, the sector, total return why we think it would make a good or bad investment. ETFcast is also for investors looking for alternative investments in this current economic climate or seeking more knowledge on the ETF industry.

This week's ETF fund review is the iShares GSCI(TM) Commodity Indexed Trust: GSG.
Ever since the oil market collapsed, commodity prices among all industries have come back down to more reasonable price levels. However, not so for this fund. It's curtain calls for this fund. It has lost more than half its value. This fund is only for the brave of heart. The fund has basically collapsed with management not having any clear strategy in place before the markets headed south and no clear strategy to pull the fund up out of the toilets, at least none that I have heard of. Commodities are a good investment but I would avoid this particular fund. This fund is for the bravest of Bottom-Feeders only!
